ICCHA

2014

Every girl child has an Ichha, a desire, to go to school, sit in a classroom, read from books, play with her friends and enjoy a childhood. But today there are many, many Ichhas that are yet to become a reality.

Nazar Foundation partnered with CRY – Child Rights and You – to create an exhibition of photographs titled Ichha as part of CRY’s Click Rights campaign in support of the girl child’s right to education. The exhibition combined photographs contributed by prominent photographers, images made by Nazar Foundation volunteer photographers in CRY intervention areas & photos produced during a workshop for CRY volunteers conducted by Nazar Foundation.

The images displayed in the exhibition highlighted the state of girl children in the country, bringing attention to the denial of their basic rights. They also show some part of the effort by organizations like CRY to tackle the issue.

The exhibition was on view at Ambience Mall, Vasant Kunj and India Habitat Centre, New Delhi in October 2014.
